Cotton purse beautifully embroidered by the talented artisan at Shohojogita, a fair trade organisation in Bangladesh. In a rural village of Bangladesh, 200 women are involved in creating exquisite items using traditional skills of Nashikantha embroidery. Patience and perfection are necessary attributes for every artisan who handmakes this highly skilled embroidery. The artisans are able to earn income which is vital in their struggle for survival. The word shohojogita is a Bangla word which means to ‘help each other’.
