These earrings are made from off cuts of Rosewood timber doors. The recycled pieces are sliced into 5mm thickness with a band saw. The slices are then run through a two stage drum sander, and then an orbital sander to sand with 120 to 400 to 600 and finally 800 grit. Once the timber is nice and smooth the craftsman then decides if it will be stained with a darker shade. The timber is then taken to a CO2 laser machine and cuts out the designs. Then a mix of Tung oil and liquid bees wax is rubbed into the earring by hand. It is left to dry for a few days. Once dry they are then rubbed down again with a clean cloth to remove any wax build up and are given a final polish. They have stainless steel hooks and jump rings added to them.
